Much Spanish wine is made in the plains surrounding Madrid in an area called Castilla-La Mancha, one of Europe’s largest demarcated wine making regions. This blend of 80% Verdejo and 20% Sauvignon Blanc is dry, medium-bodied and fruity. Complex and medium nose of grapefruit and passionfruit. On the palate, refreshing acidity and broad texture precede a crisp finish. A great paring for grilled fish, ham and aged cheeses.
The history of Viña Luis Felipe Edwards (LFE) dates back to 1976, when Luis Felipe Edwards Sr. purchased the Fundo San José de Puquillay estate, located in the Colchagua Valley. This wine presents a bright purple red colour. The nose is characterized by intense aromas of violets, mature dark fruit and black pepper, and notes of dark chocolate. On the palate it is silky and soft, pleasing with a present acidity, ripe and mature tannins, and hints of mocha and vanilla. Try alongside grilled vegetables, pasta dishes with mushrooms and fresh herbs.
The history of the Frescobaldi family starts over a thousand years ago and is closely connected with the history of Tuscany. At the high point of medieval Florence, the Frescobaldis spread their influence as bankers. This wine is a fresh, dynamic Sangiovese with aromas dominated by fruity sensations. Strawberry and blackberry accompany clean-edged, decisive coffee and liquorice notes. This soft, flavoursome wine has a dry, clean finish. Perfect alongside pasta dishes with a meat sauce or stewed lighter meats.
