What are some of your favourite comfort food and bold & full flavoured beer pairings? On those cold winter days, I tend to have braised meats and stews on the menu. Both of these options are a terrific pairing with a bold and full flavored beer. In my opinion, a hearty Irish stew paired with stout is the satisfying winter meal. What products would you suggest for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations? St. Patrick’s Day is a popular celebration for the Irish and fans of the Irish culture. It is an excuse to wear your favorite green colored shirt, drink green cocktails and Irish favorites. Our Beer Style of the Month is Bold & Full Flavored. What are some of the best sellers/favourites of this beer style? Bold and full flavoured beers taste especially good when the weather is colder and they pair perfectly with winter comfort foods. After an afternoon of snowshoeing I can’t imagine a better combination than a big bowl of homemade chili and a frosty glass of Porter - A favorite of mine is Collective Arts Stranger than Fiction Porter . The creamy sweetness in this beer offers a nice balance to the heat in the chili. Oysters are a food that can be enjoyed at any time of the year. In the past I would always pair them up with a crisp white wine. Recently, I discovered how good they can be with a Guinness . The next time you’re enjoying PEI Oysters, I challenge you to try pairing them with a glass of Guinness Draught . For dessert, try pairing the coffee and chocolate flavours in a Sydney Street Stout from Gahan, with the gooey goodness of a chocolate lava cake.
